JustGiving Crowd Funding for Lixwm School
Posted by: Admin - 05-12-2018, 07:12 AM - Forum: Save our School - No Replies

There is now a Justgiving Crowd Funding page to tackle Flintshire County Council in court with regards to the proposed closure of the village school that is 170 years old.

"Flintshire County Council want to amalgamate our school with Brynford. This will leave Lixwm village without a primary school, ripping the heart out of the community.

We have been fundraising to raise funds to challenge the legality of Flintshire County Council's actions in court"

The new website is now underway after some time with the older version. I am in the process of making this compliant with both Google and all devices from full screen to mobile phones.  This does take quite a bit of my time so please bear with me while I implement each page.

If you feel there could be more content or suggestions please don't hesitate to reply to this thread or contact me at admin@lixwmvillage.co.uk

  Station and WebCam
Posted by: Admin - 05-10-2018, 03:31 PM - Forum: Lixwm Weather Station and WebCam - No Replies

The original Lixwm Village Website was created a number of years ago originally to hold information on the Weather Station and WebCam I run from my home address but expanded over time.

Weather Station
The weather station is a Vantage Vue Pro and is wifi enabled to my base station in the house. The station records a multitude of settings and keeps track of them through out the years with stats now running back would you believe until 2012!

Webcam
The webcam has slowly been introduced over the last several months and can be found here: http://www.lixwmvillage.co.uk/weatherstation.html

The webcam is an IP Camera again wireless and runs 24hrs a day but updates every minute on the website.

All data from the weather station is pushed to the Met Office Wow found here: http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/observations/details/20180510dz8xqinwcee6txmpyyguicqquw

It is also pushed to Weather Underground here: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-we...=IHOLYWEL2

I have also configured the base station to communicate with twitter and the station weather is tweeted every hour from the hours of 7am - 10pm found here: https://twitter.com/lixwm?lang=en
